Garvestone was a Sea Scout Group, despite it being locate in the centre of Norfolk and 25 miles from the coast. This is due to the land being donated in the 1950’s by a former Royal Navy Officer, who lived in the local area, for use by the scouts but requested that a sea scout group was formed there.
