Garvestone Campsite

With space for 50 campers and a small shelter housing a camp kitchen, Garvestone is nestled in the Heart on Norfolk, 4 miles from the town of East Dereham, and is best suited for groups who want to explore the countryside / DofE practice with many footpaths and tracks around Garvestone and the surrounding areas.

It also has the space and hiring facilities for archery, rifle shooting and axe throwing, backwoods cooking, large campfire area and small wooded area that could be used for bivouac making.

There is now also a great Drone Video footage of the site –

Garvestone was a Sea Scout Group, despite it being locate in the centre of Norfolk and 25 miles from the coast. This is due to the land being donated in the 1950’s by a former Royal Navy Officer, who lived in the local area, for use by the scouts but requested that a sea scout group was formed there.

Nature and the outdoors are languages that can be learned. Once you identify a beech tree, tie a clove hitch or cook a simple meal over a fire that you’ve built yourself, you’ll never forget it.'
