Richard Green
District Chair

I am delighted to the District Chair for Central Norfolk. My role is to ensure that the District Executive Committee is able to meet the challenge of providing the opportunities and resources that our young people need to get the best out of their scouting. We support our District Commissioner and other leaders so that their focus in on delivering front line scouting. Our Committee is also responsible for our scouting governance, and adhering to Charities Commission and other regulations. I also offer support to all of the Chairs of our Scout Groups so that they can support their young people as well.

Before taking on this role, I have just under 20 years’ experience as a Cub leader, a District Commissioner and a District Explorer Scout Commissioner; roles where I have helped develop activities such as air rifle shooting and axe throwing. My satisfaction in scouting comes from seeing young people being challenged and developing into confident young adults.

Shirley Sinclair
A/District Lead Volunteer

I am the acting area manager for Central Norfolk District Scouts. My role requires me to support all of the Group Lead Volunteers (GLV’s). The GLV’s then in turn support the Leaders. I am also a member of the District Executive who manage the finances for the District and provide many events in the year.

My aim is to develop Central Norfolk District into a strong united District with all of the Groups supporting the development of all the other Groups. Working together allows us to grow and provide better experiences for the young people and develop their Skills for Life.

Daniel Cook (Cookie)
District Explorer Scout Commissioner (DESC)

I oversee all members aged 14-18 in the explorer units and as Young Leaders. I manage the team of Explorer leaders making sure they are running a balanced and challenging program as well as organising the training for our Young Leaders helping to provide skills for life. I also act as their voice on the district exec to make sure the young people’s voices are heard.

My aim is to help grow young people, giving them new and challenging experiences and developing skills that can be used in later life. Also to help the archive their top awards such completing the Young leader scheme, chief and queen scouts award and DofE. This helps them stand out when applying for universities and employment.

I have been in Scouting for over 20 years and I have been with the District my whole time since I was a Beaver.

I have been an Akela, Explorer leader and the under 25 rep on the district exec as my previous roles.
